Lala Amba Prasad Smarak Chikitsalay has been providing treatment and care to women and children for the last 30 years. All the facilities of the hospital, as well as the structure of its building, have been made women- and children-friendly. The hospital is known for its cleanliness and the dedication of the staff. Here, all facilities are available for gynaecological check-ups and treatment, and the core of the hospital setup is childbirth. After delivery, the new baby and the mother need a clean and infection-free environment. With this spirit, we do not admit any seriously infected and accidental patients in the hospital.
All of our rooms are air-conditioned and private. Our Senior Paediatrician is present at the time of each delivery to take care of the baby and thereafter check-up of the baby every day. He trains the mother about how to take care of the baby.
Out of the mother’s safe womb, the newborn often faces critical situations in adjusting to the new environment. The hospital’s SCNU (neo paediatric ward) is fully equipped to handle these kinds of situations.
In the same premises of Amba Hospital, a special diagnostic centre for women has been established, ‘Sakhi Diagnostic Centre for Women’, where all kinds of tests related to women’s diseases are done. It is the only centre of its kind.
Amba Hospital has established an exclusive Infertility Clinic and IUI Centre in the same premises. Here, the childless couples are thoroughly examined and their shortcomings are assessed by a female doctor. When all the deficiencies are removed then an attempt is made to inseminate through IUI. Conception results from IUI are similar to those from IVF, also known as test-tube babies. The cost of IUI is considerably less than IUI.
The hospital has a general surgery department. This department works under the supervision of a senior and experienced surgeon. All of our surgeons specialise in different types of surgery of adults, including breast surgeries.
The hospital offers surgery for infants and young children. We have successfully operated on children up to 1 kg.
Only good branded and patent medicines are available in the hospital’s medical store. Medicines of good company are more helpful in health recovery.

I have been visiting this hospital for years now, had one operation and also delivered my baby here. The nursing staff is very courteous & attentive. The patient rooms are very clean and spacious, we opted for the suite room for our delivery. The additional benefit of having a ultrasound facility in the hospital is a boon, Sonologist Dr. Anuradha Gupta is a good one.

Good Hospital at a good location in Kanpur. I got my baby delivered here during Covid 2nd wave and this hospital was following all required guidelines to keep everyone safe specially the mother and the child. The best part which I observed regarding the safety is that this is Maternity and Child Care only, which keeps the major crowd away.
